Tyson's EEG

Tyson had his EEG last Thursday because of the suspicion of seizures returning (see his CaringBridge blog if you aren't caught up:).

My cousin, SanDee called me Thursday morning to let me know she would be doing his EEG. I was so excited! The night before was crazy. They say to keep him up 2 hours past his bedtime and get him up 2 hours early in the morning, so when he is ready for his EEG he'll fall asleep easy. So, Wednesday night I had to work until 12:30 a.m. I told Nate if he went to bed early I could try to keep Tyson awake while working and then he could get up with him. Well, considering Tyson doesn't go to bed until 11:30 anyway, did that mean I had to stay up until 1:30 a.m.? No way. I could barely stay awake as it was. I actually ended work a little early because he couldn't sit on my lap anymore because he was so restless. I had him brush his teeth with me...and he was falling asleep brushing his teeth. I picked him up and he laid his head on my shoulder and went right to sleep. It was so cute. Nate got up with him a little before 6:30. It started out to be a long day.

His appointment was at 10:40. We got there and Sandy started hooking him up. He actually just laid there on the table happy as can be letting her put yucky marker and goop all over his head...and while she was doing this, he fell asleep. How perfect. So, he slept for 40 minutes or so and then we were done. We got a CD of his current EEG and then the one he had at 3-1/2 months old to compare them. I have compared them yet. But, from what I understand there are seizures coming from the right side (good side). I don't know the complexity of it all and what it really means, I haven't talked to the neurologist yet. We have an appointment with both him and the neurosurgeon on the 30th of this month. I'm sure we'll be going back on medication, and I hope that is the worst case scenario.

He's so cute when he sleeps don't you think? :)
