Positive Exposure

While out in Baltimore at the Hemispherectomy Reunion, there was a photographer, Rick Guidotti, who came out from New York to take pictures. He is amazing. His photos were a gift to us and he was not paid. He used to be a fashion photographer, but instead decided to focus on people, especially children with genetic disorders..."Each individual living with a genetic difference desires to be viewed first and foremost as a human being with his/her own special needs rather than as a specific diagnosis/disease entity".

Amanda, Keeley's mom, put it beautifully...."Thank you for seeing that beauty is not etched on the cover of an airbrushed magazine. Beauty is in the smile of a courageous young child, beauty is in the eyes of an amazing young adult who can hold their head up high for the first time in their life. Beauty is in each and every one of us. Difference is not ugly but ignorance is in the people who see our children as different."

Here are some pictures taken of Tyson...

Your posts always make me bawl like a baby! He's so adorable, I love those pictures. I love that quote you shared too. How great that Heavenly Father places people in our lives to keep our focus back on what really matters.
