Revealing of the rooms...

A couple of months ago we were voting on FB for APX Gives back for Now I Can. Now I Can is a nonprofit organization in Provo who help kids learn to walk, sit up, all the basic physical therapy stuff that we take for granted. Because Tyson is still not walking, he has been to Now I Can a few times. It costs about $6000 for a 3 week session at Now I Can, that is why we were hoping they would win the $30,000 from APX Gives Back, so Tyson could recieve a scholarship to go there, but they didn't win. Heart2Home came through and won it. So Heart2Home wanted to give back. About a month ago Heart2Home came to Now I Can and wanted to make over some of their rooms in their facility in Provo, and also pick a few kids that go there to make over their bedrooms. Tracey from Now I Can, who is absolutely wonderful, asked us if we wanted them to do Tyson's room. We were so excited! They are also currently doing the Gleason home in Orem for cute little Pressley who needs a ramp for her wheelchair. So they are doing a major transformation to the back of their house to add a wheelchair ramp.

For 3 years now, up until about 4 months ago, Tyson has been sleeping in our room, half of the time sleeping inbetween my husband and I. I was so paranoid and nervous to have him in his own room while he was having seizures, that I felt much more comfortable with him in our room. We haven't seen a seizure in about 4 months, and that is about when we moved him into his brother's room.

Heart2Home's design team came a week ago to meet Tyson and check his room out, and of course absolutely fell in love with him. :) This last Monday they did a little Family Night at APX Alarm in Provo to kick the week off and that is where they told me they would be doing our Master bedroom too. I didn't know what to say. I was totally surprised and emotional. All of these men and women associated with Heart2Home have been SO generous, so caring, so giving. Words can't express how I feel about their service...they are simply amazing.

So...tonight is the revealing of the rooms. We are heading to the Gleason home around 4:30 first and then our house is the next one on the list, so we'll be here around 6 p.m. I am inviting anyone who would like to come. So...Come! :)

That is so neat! It brings tears to my eyes that there are good people out in this world that want to help! Congrats on the rooms being made over, you deserve it. I wish I lived up there to see them!
